Have you ever seen those YouTube videos where something is set on fire, blown up, frozen or launched into the atmosphere? Have you noticed how many videos there are with the words homeade, reaction,rockets, fire and explosion in the Title?
Me, too! I'm all about it!
Yes, YouTube is full of crazy idiots that are lucky to live through their own videos but, I'm not one of them. I take my safety very seriously because I don't like lawsuits or scars but I do love to learn new things and I can't think of anything cooler than the first "Build your own Rocket motors at home" video I ever saw. It took me 6 months of to finally get one off the ground and 2 more to top one out at 4000 ft. A rocket made with sugar and stump remover. Where else can one learn that? An expert may spend 20 years to get one to the moon. I got one high enough after 8 months, AlmostAnExpert and I have enough time left to build an Arc Furnace out of an of scrap microwave parts. WooHoo!
The reward was great but the journey through the academia required for success in any given field is the end in itself.
